Whenever your talking about motorcycles, Harley Davidson is the king. It is the pride of the two wheeled industry. Its high position was not accomplished over night. It took blood, sweat, and tears to get to the top. It took many more years to gain the respect of customers.Harley Davidson began in 1903, a man dream t of an engine of small size, this engine was meant for a bicycle to have it go faster. The man was 21 years old.Harley Davidson began is Wisconsin, people love the sound and the design. It is one of 2 motorcycle manufacturers in the United States that mass produces motorcycles.It took 2 years for William Harley with his buddy Arthur Davidson to work on their idea. The first one built could not climb hills without using pedals, back to the grindstone for improvements. The next one had a larger engine.In 1904 they finished their prototype, in 1905 more than 12 Harley s were made. In 1907 they made 150 bikes, and sold to government agencies and police departments. In 1907 their V Twin prototype was built, 7 horsepower and went 60 miles per hour. In 1908 450 units were built, 1200 bikes were built in in 1909.In 1913 they built a factory that was 5 stories tall. In 1914 they led all competition in motorcycle manufacturing across the globe.Rarely do we think of these young men s accomplishments when we hop on and start these slick machines up, and heading down the highway, addicted to the low pitched deep sound, and certainly we cannot forget the power of these great machines.

But this probably comes as no surprise to the American public The Soul we are talking about was announced earlier this year in 2007 at the International Auto Show. It is believed that this car was named "Soul" to represent the cars Korean origin and the combined efforts of both Korea and their North American counter parts in California. The 2008 Kia Soul combines tastes and design in an effort to bring new life to a concept car that truly does have a soul of its own.Kia's new Soul concept car has a design that hopes to attract a younger, more active group of buyers. The modern stylish package offered standard along with new exterior features puts it all together for those looking for taste and style all in one.The interior of the Soul is cram packed with one awesome and fully customizable multimedia communications system. In addition, mood lighting, a wide cargo area and a remote powered lift gate rounds out an interior that meets everyone's expectations and then some.When we look closer at the exterior of this wonderful pint sized new vehicle, we find a roof that houses not just one but two sun roofs, one in the front that is moveable and a rear window that is hinged. This design creates a panoramic sun/moon roof that adorns the Kia Soul's sloped roofline. This allows Kia Soul occupants to enjoy open-air driving while also taking advantage of panoramic views. In addition, the Soul's roof features adjustable roof racks integrated into the design. This design is intended to create an open, uninterrupted passenger cabin.To add additional style to the interior, the audio systems speakers were made part of the overall design by making them a different color than the dash board which allows them to stand out. The small thin framed seats are a slight shade off the color of the speakers, and provide seating for four with a long center console that divides the first and second rows.With its efforts to appeal to a younger more active generation, and realizing that today's vehicles are becoming more of a mobile office, the Soul comes equipped with a video game monitor and a laptop computer that swings out of the glove box. Last Wednesday, Toyota Motor Corp. announced its global production rise of 9.2 percent in November. For 76 years, General Motors held the title of being the world’s largest automaker, and Toyota is starting to shake GM so the crown may fall off. Toyota is one of the five Japanese automakers who made their overall global production increase for last month. According to Toyota, they were able to produce a total of 803,663 vehicles globally. On the other hand, its domestic production rate increased by 2.6 percent to 395,788 units. From January until November, Toyota made a total of 7.9 million vehicles with 5.7 percent gains. Domestically, its production output rose by 1.2 percent to 3.9 million units. The Toyota Camry sedan, Corolla and the Prius gas-electric hybrid are very famous paving way for the automaker’s growth. Toyota leads the smaller and fuel efficient vehicle segment which is rarely affected by continuously increasing gas prices and environmental issues. GM on the other side is increasing its overseas production not to be dethroned by Toyota. From January until September of 2007, Toyota sales totaled 9.05 million units worldwide while GM sold 9.6 million vehicles. According to figures from each company, Toyota expects a total of 9.36 million sales while Detroit-based GM will sell 9.3 million vehicles. Second to Toyota as Japan’s largest automaker is Honda Motor Co. (maker of Acura Cl car cover) Honda announced a sales boost of 10.4 percent in November to 363,046 vehicles compared to last year. Honda’s vehicle production outside Japan rose by 20.5 percent to 243, 777 vehicles while its domestic production slumped by 5.7 percent with only 119, 269 vehicles. Honda’s largest markets are North America and Europe. The automaker said that its production increased by 7.5 percent to 128,364 vehicles and 58.7 percent to 24, 128 units in the two countries respectively. Nissan Motor Co.’s global production grew by 14.9 percent globally totaling to 335,088 units. In Japan, Nissan’s production gained 16.5 percent, thanks to production gains of the Infiniti G35 sedan, G37 coupe and the new Rogue and X-Trail models. Global production for Mitsubishi Motors Corp. gained 6.8 percent to 126,851 vehicles; it is the automaker’s ninth consecutive month of production increase. Domestic production is increased by 6.2 percent while production output abroad boosted 7.8 percent. Ford Motor Co.’s affiliate, Mazda Motor Corp. announced that its overseas production totaled 26,091 vehicles that include its famous Mazda6 and Mazda3 models.

I was delighted when i got second prize,out of 600+ contestants world wide.

Apart from a big amount of money a lot of good came out of it,but it didn't change my career,wich looking back was a good thing,i would probably still have peen painting photographic...eek!

The Alfa Romeo is an Italian automobile manufacturing company, founded in 1910 in Milan, Italy. Originally known as ALFA, which is an acronym meaning Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili. Nicola Romeo purchased ALFA in 1915. His surname was used as the company name. G1 in 1920 was the first car designed by the company. In Frankfurt was the introduction of the new 147 CNC COSTUME NATIONAL. It is the result of the cooperation between Alfa Romeo and stylist Ennio Capasa. It is supposedly influenced by the world of music Pop, Indie. It is also inspired by the Garage by street culture and by the world of multimedia. The display area creation is innovative, with luxurious materials and black and white alternate. It is combined with the simply and straightforward design which helps to create a sophisticated atmosphere. It conveys the Italian technology and excellence to perfection. A production run of 1000 is expected for this special series. It will be characterized by the unique Eldorado White paintwork and its exclusive mother-of-pearl effect or the Polar White for the regular output. It also has specially refined details such as the chrome-plated exhaust terminal with the glossy black wing mirror cases. The darkened rear lights add to its mystique. The exclusively painted, sparkle-effect 17 wheels come with aeronautical design. An additional touch of refinement is provided by the 147 CNC logos that appear on the tailgate and pillars. This special series is equipped with the 'Q2' system, the Torsen self-locking front differential. This confirms the strong points of a front-wheel drive which increases the creasing driving pleasure and control. It also provides some of the advantages typical of four-wheel drive. The unique features of Alfa elements such as 18" special wheel rims, sports instrumentation and aluminum pedals in the TI range.The Car FeaturesTo create a posh and dynamically elegant environment the dark shades have leather upholstered in seats. The Mini has been a style icon even since its original inception in 1959. The combination of a cute and quirky little car which was not only great around town, was owned and driven by the rich and famous, but was also one of the most easily affordable vehicles available for the normal person in the street to both buy and maintain, propelled this automotive icon into being one of the most popular British-made cars ever. From the time the first groundbreaking 850cc Morris Mini Minor rolled off the production line on 26 August 1959, the Sir Alec Issigonis' designed Mini was destined for a big future. The original mini from 1959 came about as Issigonis was challenged by The British Motor Company (BMC) to design a car to answer the problems resulting from the European fuel crisis caused by the nationalization of the Suez Canal. While German aircraft designers like Messerschmitt, Heinkel as well as Isetta came up with tiny bubble cars in response, the head of BMC wanted a new car which was to be small at just four feet wide, by ten feet long and four feet high but which could comfortably seat four adults and take their luggage without any problems. The revolutionary engine and transmission design allowed for the creation of a car that was not only compact externally but made maximum use of available interior space. With great stability generated by the front wheel drive and wheel at each corner arrangement, and the front grill and headlamp layout which created a cheeky face look, the car appealed to both hardened driving fans as well as the general population. The creation of the Mini Cooper in 1961 which lead to three wins at the Monte Carlo Rally between 1964 and 1967, driven by the likes of the great Paddy Hopkirk, as well as a host of other racing triumphs, showed the Mini's true driving pedigree. Combining this with driving endorsements from big name celebrities such as Steve McQueen, Clint Eastwood, and all four of the Beatles, and then add to this the release of The Italian Job, a big motion film with Michael Caine and Noel Coward, but which firmly had Mini's as the main stars, and it is no surprise that everyone wanted to drive one of these great little cars. Production of the classic Mini continued until 2000 after which BMW, who now owned the brand name, announced their successor, the BMW Mini. While many enthusiasts reject the claim that the new Mini is in fact a genuine successor, being longer, wider, heavier, and being relatively more expensive to buy than the original, many others feel that the new larger Mini was the only logical way for the car to keep up with modern requirements. By retaining the general overall styling look of the classic car but upgrading the technical specifications, BMW had to tread a fine line to produce a car which would retain the quirky yet fun visual aspects of the old vehicle as well as the superb handling characteristics which had made the original such a classic icon. Despite initial reservations from some reviewers and fans of the old car, the new version of the Mini has so far proved to be almost as popular as the first, and with the help of BMW car finance over one million models were sold during the initial six years of production It seems that just like the original, these latest models have also been able to garner the attention of famous owners such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sharon Osbourne and Charlotte Church. While the latest brace of cars bearing the Mini name, and the latest version of the Italian Job, may not be able to conjure up quite the same stirrings of emotion that their predecessors did, it is undeniable that BMW has managed to avoid much of the backlash which remaking a classic can bring. Instead the BMW Mini looks set to continue the legacy, albeit in a different direction, which was started nearly 40 years ago.

No one doubts that all-wheel drive gives you the best possible vehicle control when you're driving in elemental weather. Whether you're dealing with flood, snow, or sand, dropping engine torque as low as it can go and having four tires working together instead of two improves traction no matter what you drive, but new technology soon to be appearing as a feature of the performance car of your choice takes all-wheel drive one step further. It's called "torque vectoring," and it's a system that enables the instantaneous and seamless distribution of torque to one specific wheel at a time.Most recent-model all-wheel drive vehicles (cars and SUVs) already come with some kind of computer-managed system in order to boost fuel efficiency. The onboard computer will sense a wheel that might be straying from the intended path, or rotating faster than it should, and it will engage the opposite drive axle and apply torque as a corrective measure. If that isn't enough, engine torque will be reduced, or brakes applied until the problem is solved.More recently, however, this technology has been vastly improved. Car manufacturers have re-designed both front and rear differentials to make it possible for the engine's torque to be vectored, or passed to each corner of the car. Put simply, traditional torque distribution systems in all-wheel drive cars can transfer engine torque only from the front axle to the rear axle and back, but with torque vectoring, it can be distributed from right to left, as well. An article in Popular Mechanics compared the technology to having "…computer-controlled, super-speed limited slip differential in each axle." What this means is that vehicles will not only handle extremely well in bad driving conditions, but will offer impressive handling in normal conditions as well.So, where can this technology be found? Look to Acura, Mitsubishi, and BMW for the most refined versions. Acura has offered a version of torque vectoring in it's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system for several years. The system monitors vehicle speed, gear position, steering angle, wheel speed, yaw rate and lateral G forces as well as a number of other types of data, and automatically adds torque to the outside rear wheel during cornering, for smoother, more stable turns. The system includes a set of electromagnetic clutches in the rear differential to handle lateral torque transfers, and while the default distribution is 90% to the front / 10% to the rear, it will automatically change to a 50/50 split on hard turns and acceleration.Mitsubishi, which was long been a pioneer when it comes to torque vectoring specifically and traction control in general offers a system similar to Acura's. Known as "Active Yaw Control" it's been part of the rear axle of their Evolution performance sedan since the late 1990s, while Audi and BMW are taking the technology further: Acura's system only works on the real axle of a vehicle that normally uses front-wheel drive, but these two makers are using technology from British automotive supplier Ricardo and German supplier ZF that can distribute torque to all four tires at once.Ricardo's system, found in the Audi A4 and A5, uses wet clutches and planetary gearsets, as well as electromechanical controls to offer a response time of 0.1 seconds from accelerator push to delivery of up to 90% of available torque, and passes it both front to back and side to side with lightning-fast accuracy. The German system used by BMW has branded their system "VectorDrive" and it can pass torque to each of the rear wheels individually, for improved cornering and excellent stability in less-than-excellent driving conditions.While torque vectoring is not yet an industry standard, it is growing in use, and, when married to existing systems like anti-lock braking and rollover prevention, will eventually give every driver the ability to drive safely through wind, snow, rain, and sleet…not to mention sunshine and dry roads.

In the auto industry where green vehicles are becoming more and more popular, automakers are now developing vehicles which produce very little amounts of greenhouse gases. Japanese automakers are known for their hybrid cars such as the Prius which is manufactured by Toyota. On the other hand, European automakers are focusing on the development of clean diesel engines.In China though, the government has recently announced that diesel engines will no longer receive preferential policies. That is according to an official from the national Development and Reform Commission in China.Yang Yongxin, an official from the Industry Policy Department of NDRC, told China Business News: "With all things considered, we've decided to remove diesel engine powered sedans from the catalogue." Although the said move was done, it does not mean that the country is no longer doing its share in the move towards a greener auto industry. China will be encouraging the development of gas electric hybrid vehicles.Apart from electric powered vehicles, the Chinese government will also be encouraging automakers to develop vehicles which can run on alternative fuels such as compressed natural gas, and hydrogen. Hydrogen powered vehicles are already being developed by several automakers and it is the alternative fuel considered by many to be the best possible solution to the problem of greenhouse gas emissions. Vehicles using hydrogen as fuel produces only water as its byproduct which means that using the said fuel will dramatically reduce the amount of greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere. With the Chinese government exerting effort towards the development of green vehicles, it can be expected that said country will soon have more hybrid and other green vehicles.The changes made in the legislation also show that the Chinese government favors hybrid vehicles over diesel vehicles. The Auto Channel also reported that the Chinese government is also worried about the supply of diesel. Li Shiulin, an expert with the NDRC, said: "Diesel engine sedan is still in the testing stage, not in maturity yet. We're not certain about the direction of diesel engine sedan. And we're also concerned with the supply of diesel fuels."Feng Fei, the director of the Economic Development Department of National Development Research Center, a government think-tank affiliated to China's central government, added: "If 30 percent of China's all vehicles in use were powered by diesel engines, the country could save up to 28.30 million tons of oil a year."What this means is that China is making great steps forward in the promotion of green automotive technologies which can be found on some Acura coil spring -equipped vehicles today.

Honda’s subsidiary in India, Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) with plant located at the Greater Noida near Delhi is considering manufacturing the CR-V.Currently, the CR-V Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is imported from Japan and distributed in the Indian market. According to Masahiro Takedagawa, President and CEO of HSCI in an interview with DNA Money said, "We are studying the possibilities of producing the CR-V locally, which will help us become a far more active player in the growing SUV market."Around 300 units of CR-V are sold in India every month and priced at Rs 20 lakh. Nearly half of this figure is comprised of import duty components. And just in case Honda would finally decide to manufacture the CR-V locally, price would likely go down to Rs 12-14 lakh which will surely entice customers.In the top-end SUV segment, CR-V is the lead player along with Mitsubishi Pajero, Ford Endeavour, Suzuki Vitara and other models of which mostly are directly imported.The advantage of local production is that more CR-Vs will be produce and aside from that HSCI also believes that there is a potential to increase market share once the vehicle built a strong brand image in the market.Mr. Takedagawa also said that the company is hoping to produce around 68,000 units comprising of Civic, City, and Accord. HSCI has announced that it intends to manufacture over 150,000 cars by 2010 which is the same year when annual car production in the country is expected to reach 2.5 million units. Mr. Takedagawa also said that the company is really serious in its desire to increase its overall market share in India. The company is hoping to close this fiscal with the production of around 68,000 units consisting of the Civic, Accord, and City.In addition, Mr. Takedagawa mentioned that the company will introduce a new hatchback which it plans of introducing in a couple of years and will play an important role in the sales growth that Honda the producer of high quality Acura CL catalytic converter is expecting in the future. The car is said to be a derivative of the Jazz and is scheduled to be produced at the second plant in Rajasthan.This new plant is different from the one at Greater Noida where body panels are imported but this will not be the case with the plant in Rajasthan where a stamping facility is being installed specifically for this purpose.There are also plans of producing locally important engine parts to keep costs low and at the same time to increase production volumes.

Pickups, for years, have been the best-selling vehicle in the United States. But recently released year-to-date sales are showing that overall, pickup truck sales have fallen this year. Sales for the Nissan Titan have dropped more than 9% this year. In September of 2006, more than 6,000 Titans were sold. This past September, sales barely beat the 5,000 mark. Chevrolet's Colorado and Ford's Ranger are faring far worse. Sales for the Ford Ranger are down more than 20% over this time last year. September sales for this year are down by 43% compared to 2006. Chevy's Colorado is down more than 18% in overall sales for the year and even sales for the popular Chevy Silverado are down nearly 2%. Nissan's suffering as well with an 18% drop YTD (year-to-date) with the Frontier, and GMC's Sierra is barely holding on to market share with a 1.6% drop in sales over last year. This can be alarming for some people looking for a car, van, or SUV but most buyers agree that the risk far outweighs the reward.On the flip side, Dodge's Ram is holding steady--actually up one percent over last year and has sold more than 500 more Rams in September '07 than it sold in September 2006. As Formula BMW USA joins the Champ Car World Series for two consecutive race weekends, the San Jose Grand Prix will host the 9th and 10th rounds of the 2007 Formula BMW USA Championship on July 27 - 29. Seventeen young drivers entered the race with a 1.5-mile, 7-turn Redback Raceway. Reports say it will provide quite a contrast to the rolling 4.0-mile, 15-turn Road America circuit where Rounds 11 and 12 will be held on August 9 - 12.
Part of the BMW 325e parts making company; the Formula BMW USA Championship passed the midst of the season at Lime Rock Park on July 6 - 7. Round 8 marked the 50th Formula BMW USA race since the series started in 2004.
So far, three young men have stood on the top step of the podium. They are also atop the overall point standings. Daniel Morad (Eurointernational), one race winner last year on his way to the Rookie Championship, has earned five more victories this year, making him the driver with the most career Formula BMW USA wins and a 77-point leader. Sophomore driver Sebastian Saavedra (Eurointernational), who had an advance win in Round 7 at Lime Rock Park, placed second in overall points. Rookie Esteban Gutierrez (Autotecnica) after two 17th place finishes at Lime Rock may have fallen five points behind Saavedra, but the 15-year old still leads the Rookie standings. Gutierrez is a holder of a record six straight poles in Rounds 1 through 6. Behind these three are Maxime Pelletier (HBR Motorsport Team USA), Alexander Rossi (Team Apex Racing USA) and Steven Guerrero (HBR Motorsport Team USA) standing fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
Series graduates also continue to shine as they climb the motorsport ladder. The San Jose Grand Prix will seem to be a reunion as many graduates compete in the Champ Car Atlantic Championship. Taking the overall pole, Robert Wickens (2006 Formula BMW USA Champion) finished second in the opening round of the Champ Car Atlantic season at the Las Vegas Grand Prix and won in just his fourth start in Portland. Eight more Formula BMW USA graduates are racing in Atlantics this year: James Hinchcliffe (04), Kevin Lacroix (05), Matt Lee (06), Tom Sutherland (04, 05), Simona De Silvestro (06), Frankie Muniz (06), Adrien Herberts (05, 06) and David Garza (06).
Among the first group of Formula BMW USA Junior scholarship winners, Graham Rahal became the first Formula BMW USA graduate to earn a full-time drive in the Champ Car World Series with his start at Las Vegas this year. He became the youngest ever to reach a Champ Car World Series podium with his second-place finish in the Grand Prix of Houston just this April.
Round 10 qualifying will be held on Saturday at 11:50 - 12:20 p.m.
The Round 9 race will be held on Saturday at 3:20 - 4:05 p.m. and on Sunday, just shortly after a 15-minute morning warm-up at 8:00 a.m., the Round 10 race will begin at 9:55 a.m.

With the new year coming up fast, it seems that everybody is gearing up to check out all sorts of car lease specials; especially with the many rumored super cars that are coming out in 2008. One of these cars is more anticipated than any other and that's none other than the new Jaguar XF. Unlike the Jaguar of old, this one really does resemble the mean looks of an actual big cat. The Jaguar XF goes beyond the traditional standards of the classy Jag we are all used to.
What we know about this jaguar that's due out in March is that while it uses the old S-Type bases and suspension from the XK coupe, what it looks like is entirely different. It takes on a sportier more than luxurious look although it doesn't give up too much as it still looks like a million dollars. It will definitely be a head turner for a much younger market, but this doesn't mean it will alienate the Jaguar's dedicated market as it still retains the class that Jag is known for; this is especially true if you manage to get one of these car lease specials in a dark color, like black.
What you see outside is definitely not true inside the XF. The exterior is a lot ore buff but inside, you may be surprised with the luxury of space that you will enjoy. The seats are not as bulky as you might expect and this offers an impression of more air and space. However, this is a good thing, especially with all the things that this car packs in. Expect wood and aluminum alloy on the inner sides, a lowered dashboard, a rotary gear selector in the center and a starter button that flashes upon entering the car. As a standard, consumers get cruise control, heated seats and satellite navigation! That leaves room for the imagination as far as add-ons are concerned.

While some states’ Lemon Laws are better than others, they are all very powerful and for the most part are very consumer oriented.
A typical Lemon Law is based on the premise that any vehicle which exhibits a defect or non-conformity that substantially impairs the use, value or safety of that vehicle is a lemon. Generally speaking, defects involving the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical system, water leakage and steering are the types of defects that make a vehicle a lemon. Please know that the offered list is not all inclusive, as there are other types of defects or situations that can make a vehicle a lemon.
Lemon laws typically provide that the manufacturer must be given a reasonable opportunity to repair the alleged defects. Japan’s second largest car manufacturer and producer of quality Acura CL air filter recharge kit, Honda, will be recalling 43,200 Acura RL sedans due to a faulty power steering hose that may crack from engine heat leading to fire accident. The said recall will affect 2005-2008 models as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on their website just recently. Honda said that it is very important to fix the cracked hose since it can release a volatile fluid onto a hot catalytic converter that may cause fire. There were already two reports of fires in Japan that has triggered for an internal investigation and finally to a recall based on the report posted by NHTSA on its web site. Honda has started notifying affected owners and according to the letter from William Willen, lawyer of Honda’s Torrance, California-based US unit dealers will install a heat-resistant hose. Aside from Honda, Volvo will also recall 37,000 (2007-08) XC90 sport utility vehicles while Suzuki will conduct a recall of some 40,424 (2006-07) Grand Vitara SUVs that is according to NHTSA. The problem with XC90 is its climate-control module that is feared to shut down after the ignition key is inserted thereby disabling the defroster during cold weather and reducing visibility said NHTSA. Dan Johnston, US spokesman for Volvo in Rockleigh, New Jersey has confirmed the recall but declined to comment any further on the matter. The recall called by Suzuki for its Grand Vitara is caused by a faulty automatic transmission that slip out of park once the engine is shut off causing for a vehicle to roll off causing a crash that is according to NHTSA. Beth Borozan, US spokeswoman for Hamamatsu, Japan-based Suzuki, has confirmed the said recall but also declined to make any comment on the subject. Honda’s Car Sales in China Up by 36 Percent in November Aside from the recall, Honda has also announced that they have sold around 46,226 vehicles in China during the month of November up by 36.4% from the 33,881 in the same month last year. The carmaker also said in a statement that it has sold around 378,602 vehicles for the period covering from January to November up from the previous 287,709 units sold or 31.6 percent in the same period last year. Honda’s 50-50 joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Corp, Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co. has sold 114,482 vehicles from January to November which has more than doubled the previously reported sales of 54,685 in the same period last year. Likewise, Honda’s 50-50 joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., has sold 264,120 vehicles for the first 11 months of this year up by 13.3 percent from 233,024 in the same period last year.

The plan is to boost the company's engine production capacity in China - the world's second largest car market.The new plant will be sustained with highly advance equipment. The company primarily plans to use the plant in making 2.4 L and 1.3 L engines, which will be fitted to several major Honda vehicles, including the Accord, Odyssey and Fit. It is expected to have a production capacity of 200,000 units a year.According to a report from French new agency, Honda, however, has denied the news regarding its plan to establish a new engine plant.Last year, the Japanese auto giant, also a maker of quality Acura CL ball joint and tie rod, achieved a record production of 352,500 vehicles in China, marking 132 percent improvement compared from the sales in 2005.This year, the company is looking forward to produce approximately 42,000 vehicles in China for export, accounting to about 70 percent hike. With this new model the company is targeting to sell around 200,000 vehicles a year. The automaker has prepared four new models for Japan to entice buyers, according to Mr. Fukui in an interview with reporters at Tokyo hotel.The manufacturer of Accord sedan and Civic compact did not provide the overall global sales forecast for 2008 but Mr. Fukui has projected that the North American sales will increase by 3 percent to 1.59 million next year adding it to the expected 3 percent growth this year to 1.55 million vehicles.The sales projection of Honda for this year is up from the 3.55 million vehicles last 2006. And just like its archrival Toyota, Honda has also obtain sales boost from the recent increase in oil prices add to that the company's high reputation for good mileage.Mr. Fukui also announced that the company will spend around $425 million for the construction of a new research center in Japan designed for the development of next-generation cars including fuel cells and hybrids.The new research center is scheduled to start operation by 2009 but only partially. The official opening of the research center will be on 2010.Mr. Fukui said that the hybrid system developed by Honda is by far better than that of Toyota's in the sense that it cost less thereby allowing the automaker to sell its planned hybrid at a more competitive price --- and to just how much it will cost? Well Mr. Fukui declined to give any information.At present there is a great demand for Accord in the US while the Fit subcompact is a hit in Japan. In Europe where Japanese automakers are relatively new in the market, Honda is posting really good results as a matter of fact for this year the company has projected a 23 percent increase to 380 vehicles and sees an 11 percent sales growth next year to 420,000 units.The expansions being implemented by Honda in Brazil and Argentina has also help boost sales in South America. Similarly sales in China are also projected to increase by 29 percent to 420,000 units sold this year.
