Nissan Hybrid Cars - Doing Their Work Silently
by Ernest Jarquio
Hybrid car technology is addressing today's problems of energy shortage and environmental pollution. Motorists worldwide are buying hybrid cars to save on high fuel cost and alleviate growing environmental concerns.
Borrowed Technology
To get into the hybrid car market more quickly, Nissan is leasing Toyota's state-of-the-art hybrid technology until they are able to develop a better Nissan hybrid technology. As a result Nissan has come out with the Nissan Altima Hybrid much faster.
After a few more testing, the Nissan Altima - which looks like a mid-size sedan - is expected to be mass-produced and be one of Nissan's top sellers.
Doing their Work Less the Noise
Nissan hybrid cars will rely on Toyota's "Hybrid Synergy Drive." This means that the Nissan Altima hybrid model is a Toyota car inside but a luxurious Nissan outside.
Nissan continues to develop its own hybrid technology quietly targeting to have it completed by 2010. Like the top hybrid car producer Toyota, Nissan wants to develop a full-hybrid or a plug-in hybrid to make their cars totally independent from fossil fuels.
Nissan has tied up with electronics company NEC to create a small, lightweight and highly durable battery pack for their 2010 line of hybrids. A light battery pack will save space and mass making all Nissan hybrid cars closer to the concept of a truly handy plug-and-play car.
