Dodge Dakota Parts Deliver Powerful Performance
by Glady Reign
Providing the world's best trucks has always been Dodge's forte, offering consumers with pick-up vehicles that can withstand even the worst environmental conditions. Throughout its history, Dodge has been known to build its vehicles' parts and accessories on the tradition of power, style, and rugged dependability.
The late 1980s saw Dodge's definite goals of competing in the compact pick-up market. It introduced the Dodge Dakota, the first-ever mid-sized pickup truck, instead of manufacturing another bite-size truck to acquire huge sales against strong-selling imports. In addition to its perfect size, the Dodge Dakota has always had an advantage when it comes to on-road dynamics. Dodge was the first manufacturer to put a V8 in a small pick-up, and this paved the way to some powerful Dakotas over the years.
The decade stretching from 1987 to 1996 witnessed Dakota’s first generation. There were straight-4 and V6 engines that came with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The four wheel drive included only the V6, while it offered both 6.5 ft (2 m) and 8 ft (2.4 m) beds. Starting in 1997 until 2004, the second generation of Dakota was manufactured. Although it had the semi-truck look of the bigger Ram, it kept most of the same features underneath. The R/T model with the huge 5.9 L 250 hp (186 kW) Magnum V8 was launched in 1998. During this time, it was seen as one of the most radical in its class, not only for its styling, but because it remained the only truck in its class with an available V8 engine that rivaled many V8s found in full-size trucks. The Dodge Dakota underwent a final redesign in 2005, becoming the third-generation Dakota. While it has been often compared to the more rugged Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier, it is also considered as the best vehicle for daily transport among compact and midsize pick-ups. Engine choices include a variation of 210-horsepower 3.7-liter V6, a 230-hp 4.7-liter V8, and a high-output version of the V8 good for 260 hp. The base V6 stands for fuel economy and cost-effectiveness, while the V8s deliver more torque, perfectly fit for towing.
The strength of a Dodge Dakota comes from its dependable Dodge Dakota parts. These have undergone years of redesigning to achieve the growing need for exceptional quality. Just like the human body, the Dodge Dakota has different parts that have roles to play. An absence of a sole component leads to the inability of others to function. Thus constant maintenance is required. In buying different Dodge Dakota parts, mediocre ones should never be an option. Nowadays, there are affordable Dodge Dakota parts out there that deliver best-in-class performance. Aside from various Dodge Dakota parts that improve power, there also different Dodge Dakota parts accessories that can enhance style and functionality as well. It is just a matter of choosing the right ones from the most reputable auto and online stores.
